📽️ A region-free Blu-ray box set for the franchise will be released in October and you can preorder the Special Edition now, which will only be available through the Umbrella Home Entertainment website.

Lots of special features, too:

Personally, I hope they release them individually as well because I'd really like to own the first and last one, but am "eh" on the rest, lol

Damn, I ran through the Screams 1-4 over the past couple of days. Never gave any of the films much attention in years past, and I dug this round of watches. It’s potentially one of the only franchises I've ever seen that doesn't get worse, and that’s probably because of Craven and Williamson's involvement in each film, but wow, just wow.

All four are on HBO Max right now 🍿

Today in Labor History June 10, 1971: Mexican police, and paramilitary death squads known as Los Halcones, killed 120 student protesters, including a 14-year-old boy, in the Corpus Christi Massacre, also known as El Halconazo. In 1968, the government had massacred up to 500 of students and bystanders in the Tlatelolco massacre. The Halconazo started with protests at the University of Nuevo Leon, for joint leadership that included students and teachers. When the university implemented the new government, the state government slashed their budget and abolished their autonomy. This led to a strike that spread to the National Autonomous University of Mexico and National Polytechnic Institute. To suppress the strike, the authorities used tankettes, police, riot police, and the death squad, known as Los Halcones, who had been trained by the CIA. Los Halcones first attacked with sticks, but the student fended them off. Then they resorted to high caliber rifles. Police had been ordered to do nothing. When the injured were taken to the hospital, Los Halcones followed and shot them dead in the hospital. Silvia Moreno-Garcia writes about these events in her 2021 novel “Velvet Was the Night.” It is also depicted in the 2018 film Roma.”

"Black Barbie: A Documentary" produced by Shonda Rhimes, will be released on Netflix on June 19. TODAY shares this clip, featuring Kitty Black Perkins, the designer of Black Barbie, and Beulah Mae Mitchell, who worked on the production line at Mattel, remembering conversations with Barbie creator Ruth Handler. “(Handler) would say, ‘Do you have any suggestions?’” Mitchell recalled. “I was able to say, ‘We want a Black Barbie.’”

2024 marks the 45th anniversary of sci-fi horror masterpiece Alien, which was released May 25, 1979.

The first time I saw it I was pretty young, it was on TV and censored. We actually had it recorded on a VHS from TV, which is something my family did a lot. I only saw the full uncensored version years later! 😂

Very cool! I do not use Gem, but perhaps at some point the will be available in other form/sources.

I am more of a (though I particularly love good ,) so of course I immediately picked up on the opening parallels to 's , which is why I bought it and read it. A ghost story! Excellent. I have not re-read it recently - I keep telling myself to find what else has written!

So . I actually liked it. The actors give good performances. I would love to see Dakota Johnson in more stuff, she's great.

Now yes, this is begging for a franchise. It brings the down. But I would love for a version with less of that stuff. Stunts were great. I loved how the seeing-the-future was used here. There was good-to-decent (always enjoyable) char work. Props.

I had fun. Would love more without the franchising.
