I remember the developer mentioned something about this once, and I had to scroll way to far back to find it: https://lemmy.ca/comment/1264956
I can totally understand being somewhat insecure about your code, or have the feeling that you need to do this/this/that before you can publish it online.
And indeed dealing with an issue tracker, pull request that people expect you to review, forks of your code being published elsewhere, finding and trusting other developers to commit directly to your project can feel stressful.
Disabling issues and pull request on GitHub could resolve some of these issues.
Connect is a fantastic app, and still my favourite lemmy client. I hope it will continue to work en be great for a long time. And most importantly that the developers still has fun working on the project.
Being turned into a development manager doesn't sound like fun, TBH. Over the years, I have watched quite a few projects suffer because of developer drama and that would suck.
Sometimes, open source just isn't the answer and it's why I am trying to start a discussion around that. Maybe if a super senior android dev were to volunteer, that could be an option? I dunno.
Just checking you’re not in a state that passed one of those draconian porn verification laws? Redgifs is following suit with whichever states PornHub is blocking. Try launching the lemmy page in your browser directly and see what you get too.
Good call, hadn't even thought of that as a possibility! But nope (thankfully!), in a sane, blue, porn-friendly state, and looks like everything works for me in my browser.
Nope, I can see all NSFW posts that aren't linked to redgifs and maybe 25% of redgifs links load correctly, but 75% stay loading until the "Exception: failed to retrieve..." pops up as a banner at the bottom of my screen.
Related but slightly more ambitious request. It would also be cool if we could also change the app install location to external storage (micro SD card).
I ended up hiding the post this morning. I assumed it had to do with the 0.94 upgrade of lemmy.ca, but its a good idea to post here too. I've been wondering if anything in 0.94 would require an update to Connect.
I made a comment about this on that specific post and others responded that they are seeing the same problem. (I should of asked for client details as well in hindsight.) So yeah, likely a Lemmy thing like you say.
I'll leave this post up as a note to the dev, just in case.
By design, you'll see your comment and then the reply below it that you clicked on in the inbox. You only see that one conversation thread, so you won't see other replies to your comment. You need to hit the "view full post" button to see everything.
Something's wrong with mine then. I don't even see your comment after clicking on it, in the inbox. I do see the replies to yours, though. I have to click 'view full post', then scroll down to see the context.
