We need a more comprehensive solution @LukefromDC
The world in general, and Jews in particular, will be safer when the Zionist state no longer exists.
As Miko Peled observed, Israel and Palestine are the same place. He believes that Jews and Arabs can live together peacefully. That may be true, but by all appearances, it's true of probably less than 20% of the population. The remaining 80% would need to be homed elsewhere.
Palestine is sacred to more than Judaism and Islam. Ideally, I'd like to see it established as World Heritage. Protected by the world at large and thus needing no armed forces. I can dream, can't I?
What of the other 80%? Netanyahu advocates a state in Sinai for Palestinians, so let's make that two states. I think of them as sanatoria. Unarmed and heavily guarded, to protect them from each other and the world from them.
Massive fire ongoing at military storage facility in Tel Hashomer, Israel, May 14.
Authorities are reportedly responding to a warehouse fire at Tel Hashomer military base the afternoon of May 14. The cause of the blaze is currently unclear. There are no immediate reports of casualties.Heightened security and localized transport and business disruptions are likely in the affected area over the coming hours. Officials could evacuate nearby premises as a precaution.
There are no reports of what caused the fire, but it's one of the largest weapons storage locations in Israel.
@faab64@Justis4u That account is a bot. All their non-Zionist posts are bland nonsense. But the real tell is the alt text on images they post. Nothing to do with the images.
The most important thing in the world justifies those things: people with more stuff and money than they'll ever need always demand more and people are always willing to give it to them. Cultural stupidity justifies it. And where do people get cultural stupidity? No, not from politicians. They just exploit it. People get it from RELIGION.
One more instance that brings the guess work some credibility.
Now the ruling class has roped in the fascist street thugs (largely Israeli fascists, may be other fascists too) to attack UCLA students in collaboration with State goons.
The way it works is:
If Fascists can attack on their own without State goon help, State goons will simply sit idly by & let the attack happen.
If fascists doesnt have the required street muscle, State goons collaborate & intervene to help fascists.
It entirely depends on the circumstance.
In both cases, they use this manufactured chaos as a pretext to attack the people ruling class (in collaboration with fascists) wants targeted.
These attacks usually happen in the dark to ensure they can hide their identity when they do this criminal dirty work on behalf of their masters.
Its a strategy that has extremely high % of success rate — barring few rare exceptions.
@flawed@palestine@israel
It's a guess, because I don't think anybody keeps track of police political preferences, but the endorsement of police unions for #DefendantTrump lead me to guess as that as much as 75% of police in Blue states support him. For sheriffs' departments, I'd put the figure at 95%. Early in the Biden admin, 40% or the military refused direct orders to be vaccinated against covid, a good indicator that the military is also heavily pro-Citizen Trump.
Antony Blinken claims that Hamas is blocking a ceasefire in Gaza, but it is Israel which has vowed to invade Rafah regardless of an agreement and is absolutely unwilling to declare an end to its genocidal operation.
@nicholas_saunders@radiofreearabia@palestine@israel The tunnels can be like the ones in Gaza or they are what we call "the logic path" to reach everything, since we need some sort of "tunnel" to focus on any subject.
That is why and how, academic and scientists do, when ignoring what can have a relation but is not included in some subject.
Nordic and Egipts talk about using symbols to talk with "god". If we are talking about the Abrahamic religions, we ignore that knowledge.
The current "antisemitism panic" at Columbia University is manufactured hysteria weaponized to quell legitimate political speech on campus and give cover to the larger project of ethnic cleansing in the West Bank and, now, of course, Gaza.
How can you say such things displaying a Ukrainian flag besides the Palestinian one, when Ukraine gov for a decade terrorized the miners and farmers of Donetsk and Luhansk the same exact way the Israelis have done to the Palestinians.
It was this ethnic genocide that legitimate the Russian empire to intervene.
Both rogue governments puppets of the US-EU-NATO domination.
#IDF destroyed the last operating cell tow in Rafah and set it on fire.
One of the key goals of Israel is to prevent the world witnessing what they are doing in Gaza. From murder of reporters, preventing foreign press to enter and destroying the means of communication, they are setup up the stage for full blown assault on #Rafah and mass murder of innocent palestinians who have no where to go.
@faab64 Never would have thought Team Blue could fit their heads even farther up their asses than they were in 2016. Not only did they fail to learn anything, they appear to have become even more disconnected from reality since then. And they're driving us headlong into 4 more years of Trump. Which I'm sure they'll blame you and me for.
At some point you have to start wondering if that level of ignorance could really be unintentional.
@freakazoid@palin It really is unbelievable, I honestly don't understand the power of Israel and Christian zionists have over the world politics and economy.
Biden will lose, no matter if he supports Netanyahu or not, he is in a loose/loose situation and christian zionists would rather have Trump as president with unconditional support of Israel than Biden who is shy about his support.
"We're prepared to starve ourselves on the lawn of the administration building," Princeton divestment activist David Chmielewski tells Mondoweiss. "They're ignoring the urgency of the situation, which is that there's a genocide actively occurring."
@crashglasshouses@nullagent@israel I think this part of the Negev is thought - (as is all of it) less desirable, so as long as their sponsors are in the govt., they’ll go.
Wafa: Horrifying footage shows Israeli occupation forces attacking an elderly woman with their police dog when she refused to leave her house in Gaza @palestine@israel
@thetechtutor@palestine@israel Random civillians are hamas? Are you for real? So if Joe Biden is the current president that means that all Americans are democrats?
Israel doesn't care about the hostages they only care about securing their political positions. they proved it when they killed a lot of hostages.
I find it weird how people defend countries but not the people.
#Hamas says 33 "hostages to be freed in 1st phase of a deal may not all be alive.
Terror group said to tell mediators it doesn’t have 33 living people who meet ‘humanitarian’ criteria of initial phase — after Israel agreed to lower previous demand of 40 people. #hostage #hostages #genevaconventions #war
[...] In the Middle East and North Africa, the situation is “very serious” in nearly half of the countries. The United Arab Emirates joins the eight other countries in the red zone on the map: Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Palestine, Iraq, Bahrain, Syria and Egypt. Palestine, occupied and under bombardment by the Israeli army, and the deadliest country for journalists, is also at the bottom of the Index. Qatar is now the region’s only country where the situation is not classified either as “difficult” or “very serious.”
[...] Occupied and under constant Israeli bombardment, Palestine is ranked 157th out of 180 countries and territories surveyed in the overall 2024 World Press Freedom Index, but it is ranked among the last 10 with regard to security for journalists (see the 2024 World Press Freedom Index security ranking).
@faab64@oatmeal Not to defend the index or anything, but as a partial explanation for counterintuitive rankings: the legislative environment is only one of the dimensions.
@bifouba@oatmeal Well, Iran has more position than Oman or Jordan, I honestly don't understand how this freedom index puts those totalitarian regimes not red, the same with Ukraine since their latest law that literally removed all citizen's rights in the time of war.
The German state's repression of the Palestine Congress in Berlin and its persecution of Palestine solidarity activists is a sign of the creeping resurgence of fascism in Germany.
@NoFlexZone@ZillaMon@mondoweiss@palestine@israel All countries suck, countries are a bad idea to begin with. But this racist trash about certain ethnic groups having evil or inferior DNA is not ok.
