I redesigned a mechanism for an automata I've been working on for over a year for the fourth time, and now it's like half the size and way more reliable then the previous prototype.
I got a good deal on a projector that I used to set up a home theater in the basement complete with ambient lighting, couches, and even a mini fridge. Now, I'm just waiting for the weekday to start so I can go to the store to pick up the cords I need for the sound system. Been playing my PS5 on it and it looks amazing!
I've been celebrating the Midsummer Day with my family. Here in Finland, the whole country basically closes down for the weekend and almost everyone heads to the countryside. Fire officials had banned bonfires this year, so no 'kokko'. Lots of good food and even greater company, plenty of swimming and enjoying the sauna!
Friday marked 5 years of sobriety from alcohol for me, which was nice. Then on Saturday I went to my city's pride parade. I asked a friend to come with me, and another friend if they wanted to play a round of disc golf afterwards, but both cancelled. This usually means I wallow in self-pity, but instead I got geared up in my gayest outfit, and enjoyed the festival anyway! it was like 100 degrees, but I was proud to see so many happy people having a great time in one of the most welcoming, accepting environments ever.
Thank you! I texted my father, saying "oh, look another year down!" and he replied "ok," and told me his plans for later that day. So you're actually the only person to have congratulated me on this so far. So, thanks!
Got a new pipe in the mail and got some new tobacco coming in soon, so I'm excited to enjoy that at the park later while reading a book and I am considering ordering my first block meerschaum soon.
My internet went out but my phone has a data plan so I'm good.
The bad part is I'm gonna teach dad how to use his phone data plan to get more ebooks for him and mom to read. That will suck.
Update: The internet was back on this morning. Tech support told dad last night the modem was toast and they are shipping out a new one. Idiots didn't even know they had an outage.
The rain held off long enough for me to get a good start on building a new back deck. Just a small 3x4 foot one.
