Honestly, good. Israel's PM is not looking for the off ramp here, so the US should act in it's own interest (for once) when our ally wants to keep the military operation going.
Don't we provide all the weapons? We could definitely stop doing that and at least force Israel to find another source for weaponry if they insist on continuing.
It's weird to see the traditional roles getting reversed here
Where the established order would usually represent the conservative side of the schism, here the conservatives are the schismatics with official doctrine, to the degree of even rejecting official decrees where it suits them or even if it really doesn't just because they hate modernity (see the weirdos still using latin despite not understanding it at all)
Yeah, because they aren't actually conservative. They're regressive, if anything.
For these guys, if the Pope disagrees with them, then they'll reject the Pope. Most of them probably already identify as Christian, not Catholic, anyway. (They probably wouldn't say Protestant, if they were more specific it would probably be because they were Baptists or something.)
It happens in Catholicism sometimes because liberal Catholics just ignore shit and get ignored until they start leaving. The church has understood this since the Protestant reformation.
No matter what happens. I'm going to be watching out for Israeli backed shit in the US and avoiding it. I had really no opinion before all of this. Now I want Israel out of my government.
I imagine this is the kind of sentiment that really scares the Israeli government and probably the people of Israel. Most people didn't really care before but now everyone has an opinion on Israel and it's generally not good. Potential political isolation aside, the social isolation's gonna be a big problem for them too.
Everybody needs to stop living with the illusion that Israel doesn't already claim all of the land within its borders (which it also disputes with Syria and Lebanon). To Israel, Palestine is just a series of neighborhoods that they have fenced in and which they police with their military. They have been moving these "borders" around as they see fit for a long time.
CNC as a kink is fine, but to be done healthily requires really solid negotiation skills by all parties. Ain't no way in hell you can implicitly consent just by going to a party. Even the most edgey edge-player (someone who does risky bdsm play) I know would nope the fuck out of that.
This comes right after Israel sending a delegation to the US to “talk about” the war in Lebanon and the so called war in Gaza, too. Presumably to talk about hey you’re gonna bankroll those into the fall, like always, right?
Fool me thrice, and you're officially that guy. You know the one. The kind of guy who shows up to a party. Everyone dlse brought home cooked dishes, many people brought wine and whiskey. But you show up with some sparkling bottled water, because you're looking to consume more than you paid. You're the guy who's looking to "beat the system". You're THAT guy.
Fool me repeatedly and obviously for close to a century over things everyone knows is just bullshit and about money? Welcome to international economic politics.
My prediction is that there will be no nation of Palestine by 2025. That was the plan all along, after all. Then Netanyahu moves the war to Lebanon and Syria and eventually Iran. Anything to keep his war powers dictatorship going.
Officials running the Pentagon and State Department have been in overdrive for more than 250 days in support of Israel’s ongoing slaughter of Palestinian civilians in Gaza. Supposedly dedicated to defense and diplomacy, those officials have worked to implement and disguise Washington’s war policies, which have taken more lives than any other government in this century.
