Kernel level anti-cheat should be a crime

Kernel level surveillance, drivers are not supposed to be use this way.

Same for me, but don't get your hopes up. Riot just fucked up the code doing the check, but let's just trust them that their permanently running kernel driver has no security flaws.

Even if it did work, why would you do it? You'd still be playing League of Legends.

Y'all remember netbeans?

There's always a bigger worse fish.

FizzyOrange ,

I liked Netbeans much more than Eclipse. It didn't have that stupid workspace system at least.

xmunk , to No Stupid Questions in How is it possible for this track to have so few plays on Spotify?

It's 27 seconds long - Spotify on shuffle won't (AFAICT) play songs below a certain length on shuffle unless you specifically like them.

So it's probably people listening to "Justice Radio" and never being given that song.

ColeSloth , to techsupport in Is this bad?

Fuck you, thief. Abuse is what you call the cops for. Not to steal shit from someone over what your friend told you about a person. I hope you get caught. You're dumb enough, by the looks of that picture.

yeah i demoted myself and deleted the account myself. all good though, no need to nag other LW admins over this.

jubilationtcornpone , to Selfhosted in I finally figured out how to virtualize my OPNsense firewall. Suck it, Roku.

I have a firewall rule to dst-nat any outgoing DNS requests not coming from piHole back to the piHole server. That way all devices on the LAN are forced to use piHole for DNS and can't bypass it.
I don't have an OPNSense firewall but I would think it should be able to do that as well.

If a site gets too annoying, I just leave and find something else

MusketeerX ,

This.

I use Adguard, if a site blocks me for it, then it goes on a black list of "never visit" sites.

In a few cases, if I use and like/support a specific site a lot and that site is ad supported with no other ad-free option, then I white list it.

But to read the odd crappy article? No I'm not disabling my ad blocker.

From what I’ve read, they’re not hurting from any of this at all. It’s all back to normal. Which is very disappointing.

I would have been ok if Reddit charged a reasonable rate for its API, even if it was based on having a form of Reddit premium. But the point wasn't that Reddit was charging, it was that Reddit made the price so high that it was wasn't worth it.

intensely_human , to Memes in reddit be like

Their revenue model seemed fine with awards. Brilliant model. Value out of thin air. I spent maybe $5/mo on awards.

Seeing the content itself as the product was a mistake for reddit. It’s like charging people for silverware at a restaurant.

Use of the API, just like use of the HTTP servers, drove engagement and engagement drove awards sales.

Just like the use of silverware drives meal purchases at a restaurant. Reddit charging for the API is like a restaurant charging to get the menu texted to you.
