Mondo TV makes copycat cartoons with bad storytelling, bad drawing and bad dubbing, to be sold in those €2 DVDs in the supermarket bargain bins

I have the feeling that half a million is the profit of a decade

I was sitting here like "I didn't know Italy was part of the US" because the title sucks ass, so here's the bit you are looking for

sent wire transfers through US financial institutions to pay North Korea

Bahalex ,

Odd that it didn’t get blocked by these US banking institutions, or they got the transfer fees then flagged the transactions…

They should upload MCAS to it. MCAS always heads back to Earth.

They're probably still bolting the loose panels back on.

Would you want to ride in that Boeing rattletrap? I wouldn't.

Maybe the pilot is a Boeing whistleblower and afraid for their safety?

Just jettison it into the atmosphere and send them down on something else.

Zron ,

It’s having problems with its RCS system

The thrusters that turn the craft around and allow precise movement aren’t working properly, they barely got the thing to dock with the ISS.

Despite what nasa says publicly, I’m sure there’s a lot of internal debate about if it’s even safe to undock the thing from the station. If it loses orientation control while still close to the ISS, it could easily damage the station and kill people. That’s if some of the damaged thrusters aren’t the ones that allow the craft to go backwards, kind of important if you want to leave the station.

NegativeInf ,

Is leaving it docked to the station with leaks contributing to any drift in the movements of the station's orbit?

Zron ,

Right now nothing is leaking.

The leaks are only present when the fuel system is open or ready to fire

NegativeInf ,

Well, that's a relief.

Schrodingers leaks

You know you had 5 leaks yesterday, but you don't know how many actual leaks you'll have until you turn it on and look again.

Couldn't they use the robot arm to fling it away from the station?

Gee. Would hate to be the crew meant to be returning on that thing. Was a bit of a shitshow getting up there.

(It isn't, so it would surprise me too.)

Glowstick , to Not The Onion in How long have you been in there?! A popular tourist destination in China has installed toilet timers. Reactions are mixed.

I mean, what problem are they trying to solve? And is long-sitting people really the main cause of that problem?

If a tourist destination is frequently winding up with people waiting for an open stall, and if the majority of people are in the stalls for what is considered a normal amount of time in their home country, then the actual problem is that the place simply doesn't have enough stalls and needs to add more

Jessica ,

My guess is it's for the women's restroom because when bathrooms are busy, most women just wait for a stall door to open and don't always bend over to look under the doors to see if they're even occupied. It's also probably hard to see from a distance if the stall is occupied or not and nobody wants to be the one to shamefully walk back to the line because they had to get closer to check.

Glowstick ,

Nah occupied/unoccupied status lights have already been in existence for a while. The new thing happening here is that they've added a visible stopwatch counter

The next concentration camps will be more concealed

livus , to World News in Israel phasing out use of desert detention camp after CNN investigation detailing abuses | CNN

This news isn't as good as it first appears unfortunately:

State attorney Aner Helman told the court that 700 inmates had been moved to Ofer military facility in the occupied West Bank, with another 500 set to be transferred in the weeks to come. Around 200 detainees will remain in Sde Teiman, said Helman

So, they're not even shutting down their Abu Ghraib in Sde Teiman, but they're moving the bulk of it to a detention camp called Ofer. Except:

Last week, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi said the military launched a probe into the allegations of mistreatment at Sde Teiman, as well as at Anatot and Ofer

In other words Ofer's already a shit show of human rights abuses as well. They're just shuffling people around their various camps.
